Luther (crouching) was a Jodie Foster gofer before becoming an associate editor at The Advocate in the early 1990’s.   This photo was taken on an editorial retreat in Palm Springs about a year before he died of AIDS.   The Irrepressible Doug Brantley went from The Advocate to Out, and has recently moved to Florida to work on the internet.
